Welcome to the Putnam Emergency and Amateur Repeater League (PEARL) web site. PEARL is a 501 (c) 3 not for profit corporation of licensed amateur radio operators. Most members live in and around Putnam County, New York. In 1979, when PEARL was formed, it had a specific set of goals in mind. These goals remain in effect to this day. They are:

  1. To encourage and support public service.
  2. To provide common coverage north and south over Putnam ridges.
  3. To establish constant blanket coverage for commuters.
  4. To establish emergency service: ARES and RACES
  5. To educate and train amateurs and future amateurs.
  6. To establish a technical fraternity to help each other.
  7. To enjoy friendship and life.
  8. To present and promote amateur radio to the community.
  9. To cooperate with like-minded neighboring organizations.

New York Severe Weather Awareness Week - 2014

The 2014 Severe Weather Awareness Week for CT-MA-VT-NY will be from April 28 - May 2, 2014
PEARL will be giving a presentation on Severe Weather during its April General Meeting on April 16th.

Field Day 2014

Field Day 2014

Once again PEARL will be participating in ARRL's Field Day event. Field day is an event where the objective is to work as many other amateur radio stations in the United States and Canada. Field day is most likely the single largest emergency preparedness drill in the country. PEARL will also be conducting a VE Session Saturday morning, time TBD.
