Welcome to the Putnam Emergency and Amateur Repeater League (PEARL) web site. PEARL is a 501 (c) 3 not for profit corporation of licensed amateur radio operators. Most members live in and around Putnam County, New York. In 1979, when PEARL was formed, it had a specific set of goals in mind. These goals remain in effect to this day. They are:

  1. To encourage and support public service.
  2. To provide common coverage north and south over Putnam ridges.
  3. To establish constant blanket coverage for commuters.
  4. To establish emergency service: ARES and RACES
  5. To educate and train amateurs and future amateurs.
  6. To establish a technical fraternity to help each other.
  7. To enjoy friendship and life.
  8. To present and promote amateur radio to the community.
  9. To cooperate with like-minded neighboring organizations.

November 2014 PEARL Membership Meeting

Our guest speaker for this meeting will be ARRl Cheif operating Officer, harold Kramer WJ1B.
He will be giving a presentation on "The History and Lore of the Telegraph Key"

Amateur Radio General License Class, Summer 2014

PEARL will be holding classes for the amateur radio General class license test. Individuals looking to upgrade to a General class license and want to take this class can >CONTACT<  PEARL and select "License Classes" as the category.

There will be four class sessions of approximately 2 hours each, from. The dates are August 23rd, September 6th, 13th, and 20th, with a test session on September 27th. Please refer to our class schedule for specific times and locations.

VE Test Session September 27th 2014

PEARL will be holding an amateur radio licensing test session, "VE Session", on September 27th 2014 at 10:00 AM at The Mahopac Public Library, in Mahopac, NY.
All are welcome, but it is recommended to contact PEARL ahead of time to ensure enough test material will be on hand.
