Welcome to the Putnam Emergency and Amateur Repeater League (PEARL) web site. PEARL is a 501 (c) 3 not for profit corporation of licensed amateur radio operators. Most members live in and around Putnam County, New York. In 1979, when PEARL was formed, it had a specific set of goals in mind. These goals remain in effect to this day. They are:

  1. To encourage and support public service.
  2. To provide common coverage north and south over Putnam ridges.
  3. To establish constant blanket coverage for commuters.
  4. To establish emergency service: ARES and RACES
  5. To educate and train amateurs and future amateurs.
  6. To establish a technical fraternity to help each other.
  7. To enjoy friendship and life.
  8. To present and promote amateur radio to the community.
  9. To cooperate with like-minded neighboring organizations.

New York Severe Weather Awareness Week - 2014

The 2014 Severe Weather Awareness Week for CT-MA-VT-NY will be from April 28 - May 2, 2014
PEARL will be giving a presentation on Severe Weather during its April General Meeting on April 16th.

VE Test Session April 26th 2014

PEARL will be holding an amateur radio licensing test session, "VE Session", on April 26th 2014 at 10:00 AM at The Mahopac Public Library, in Mahopac, NY.
All are welcome, but it is recommended to contact PEARL ahead of time to ensure enough test material will be on hand.

Putnam County 9th Annual Children's Expo & Public Safety Day

Again this year PEARL will be participating in the Putnam County's 9th Annual Children's Expo & Safety Day. We will be there with some of the equipment that we use while performing public service events throughout Putnam County. Other activities include: Operation SAFE CHILD, Car seat checks, 9-1-1 Emergency center tours, Fire engine tours, STAT Helicopter demo.
There will also be Food, games, live music and more.
